Week in the Life of...

Went and saw Interpol last Tuesday at the Greek Theatre in L.A. It was a good show, even though I drank to many $7 beers. Oy! What a night. They mostly played songs from Antics. They did play a couple from Turn on the Bright Lights...Untitled, PDA...as well as a song I'd never heard of. The Greek's a great place to see a show. Kind of feels like your out in the woods, but surrounded by multi-million dollar houses. L.A. is definitely a land of odd dualities.

Got back from Stateline yesterday. Spent the whole weekend out there. It was pretty fun. Mostly a gambling weekend. I didn't see the light of day for about 36 hours. Won about $200 playing craps, though. Makes up for all my previous craps losses. Well, maybe not, but it's nice to come back from a long weekend of gambling with some actual money in my pocket.

Spent the today at work composing a solicitation for newsletter articles. It makes me feel good to know that I am contributing in a major way to the operations of CSC ITS. If I wasn't there this whole place would fall like a house of cards. Right.

Found an interesting blog about national security issues called Early Warning. It's from Bill Arkin of the Washington Post. Supposedly, he writes from an insider's perspective. It's relatively new and most of his articles have to do with the hurricane responses and DHS. A couple deal with military authority on U.S. soil, which is governed, albeit thinly, by the Posse Comitatus Act. Some claim that civil authority over the military is slowly being eroded, and Americans are increasingly being targeted for surveillance in their own country. I think that if you aren't doing anything wrong then you shouldn't have anything to fear. Read about it and decide for yourself.

Started posting on blogger again after a small absence. Just don't have the time to post every day. Look for more to come.
